We have officially wrapped up Week 4 of school, and what a wonderful week it was! One of the highlights was our Parade of Grands, which was a huge success. It was so special to welcome our grandparents and special guests to the Circle Drive and to see the joy it brought to our students and families. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a memorable celebration. 💙

As we move into Week 5, it is exciting to see the amount of learning and growth happening across all grade levels. Classrooms are full of energy, curiosity, and hard work as students continue building new skills and making connections in every subject.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have a concern or would like to talk about something happening at school. We are here to support you and your family in any way we can. Together, we can ensure that every student thrives. 🌟

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making our school such a vibrant and positive place to learn.

-Mrs. Boggs, Principal
Citizens of the Week
🌟 Congratulations to Our Citizens of the Week! 🌟
At Sebree, we celebrate students who go above and beyond in showing what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe. Throughout the week, students earn Hooray Tickets for making positive choices.
Every Friday morning, tickets from each grade level are entered into a drawing, and winners are named our Citizens of the Week. These outstanding students are recognized school-wide and get to choose a special prize as a reward for their efforts. 🎉

Just look at that excitement! 🤩 Our first graders had a blast during a collaboration challenge last week. Using a jump rope 🪢, groups had to form specific shapes without ever letting go—an activity that sparked teamwork, communication 💬, and problem-solving 🧩. The smiles (and wide-open mouths of excitement!) say it all! Afterwards, students reflected by writing and drawing about the experience. What a great way to learn while having fun! ✍️✨
How Many Days Have We Been In School?
POP After School Program
We are excited to share that the POP After School Program for 4th–6th graders began today, and our first session was a huge success! Students gathered after school from 3:00–4:30 PM to learn, connect, and have fun together. This program will continue every Monday, giving our students a wonderful opportunity to grow, explore, and engage in new experiences each week.  Today, they worked on collaboration, budgets, and main idea! We look forward to seeing all the great things ahead!
Morning Drop-Off for MS & HS Students
For the safety of our students, we ask that all middle school and high school students be dropped off in the Circle Drive at the top of the hill by the front entrance of the school. After drop-off, students may walk down the outside stairs by the gym to wait for buses.
Please do not use the downstairs parking lot for student drop-off. The amount of foot traffic combined with vehicles entering and exiting poses a significant safety risk. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep all of our students safe during morning arrival!
Reading Logs
📚 Reading Logs Begin This Week for Grades K–3! 📚
We are excited to launch our Reading Logs this week for all students in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade! Each student will receive a reading folderthat goes home daily. Inside the folder, you will find:
  • A passage that your child must read at home each night.
  • A reading log paper that includes the passage title, the date it should be read, and a space for a parent/guardian signature.
This will serve as your child’s homework each night. Please be sure the reading log is signed nightly as your child completes their reading. Consistent daily practice at home builds confidence, fluency, and a lifelong love for reading! 💙
High Attendance Day
Mark your calendars—High Attendance Day is coming up tomorrow - Tuesday, September 9! Every class that achieves perfect attendance will get the chance to pie Mrs. Boggs in the face at the end of the day! Plus, all students who are present will be entered into a drawing for free bikes. And why not make it extra cozy? Everyone is encouraged to wear pajamas for the day!
Kentucky’s High Attendance Day is an annual statewide initiative sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Education and the Directors of Pupil Personnel. This friendly competition encourages public elementary, middle, and high schools to achieve the highest percentage of student attendance on a designated day. Schools with the highest attendance in each category and size division can earn a minimum $500 award! Beyond the prize, the purpose of High Attendance Day is to highlight the critical link between regular school attendance and academic success. Let’s rally our students to be present and engaged—every day counts!
Safe Schools Week

Parade of Grands
☔🎈 87 cars, a little bit of rain, and countless balloons, honks, and waves made up the 6th Annual Sebree Elementary School Parade of Grands — and what a celebration it was! 🎉👵👴
Thank you to all of the wonderful grandparents who came out to be recognized. Your creativity knows no bounds, and every year you find the most fun and joyful ways to show out! 🚗💨💛
We want you to know how much we value you, appreciate you, and recognize all that you do each day for our students. ❤️ The Parade of Grands was a huge success because of YOU — rain or shine, the love was everywhere!
Veteran's Day Parade
🎺🇺🇸 We are excited to share that the 20th Annual Veteran’s Day Parade will take place on Tuesday, November 11 at 1:00pm on Main Street. This special community tradition is a wonderful opportunity to honor and celebrate the service of our veterans. Our students will be participating in the parade, and we encourage families to help their children begin practicing their songs at home so they can sing with confidence and pride on the big day!
