We did it — we’ve made it through the first week of school, and what a wonderful week it was! Walking through the hallways, I’ve already seen students diving into new lessons, raising their hands with excitement, and laughing with new friends. The energy in our classrooms has been incredible, and it’s clear that great learning is already underway.

I am so proud of how our students have settled in so quickly and so grateful to our teachers for creating such welcoming, engaging spaces. The best part of my week was seeing the smiles on your children’s faces as they walked into school each morning—it was a reminder of why we do what we do.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and for partnering with us in their learning. The year is off to such a positive start, and I can’t wait to see all the growth, success, and joy that’s still ahead.

Veteran's Day Parade
🎺🇺🇸 We are excited to share that the 20th Annual Veteran’s Day Parade will take place on Tuesday, November 11 at 1:00pm on Main Street. This special community tradition is a wonderful opportunity to honor and celebrate the service of our veterans. Our students will be participating in the parade, and we encourage families to help their children begin practicing their songs at home so they can sing with confidence and pride on the big day!
Click your child's grade level below for a link to their song!
Weather/Heat Index

We are closely monitoring the weather conditions each day to ensure the well-being of our students. With rising temperatures, we want to reassure families that student safety is our top priority. If the heat index reaches a level that could pose health risks, students will not be allowed to play outside. Instead, we will provide safe activities for indoor recess.

Kindergarten Spotlight
✨ Our kindergarteners had an exciting first week of school as they began “learning all the things”! From practicing routines and building friendships to exploring letters, numbers, and stories, they are already showing curiosity and joy for learning. It’s been wonderful to see them navigating the classroom, following expectations, and engaging in hands-on activities. We’re so proud of how quickly they are adjusting!
First Grade
Our first graders jumped right into hands-on math learning this week! They began using cubes to discover how graphs can compare different things, helping them see patterns and make connections in new ways. With counting cubes in hand, they practiced building number sense, and coloring number paths gave them a fun and visual way to strengthen their understanding of sequences.
Second Grade
Our second graders are already growing as thoughtful readers and writers! This week, they began practicing how to use text evidence to support their answers. They also started learning cursive writing, taking their first steps toward developing fluency and pride in their handwriting.
Third Grade
Third graders kicked off the year by building their collaboration skills in the classroom! They began using structured, collaborative approaches to discuss topics, share ideas, and learn from one another. These conversations are helping students strengthen their communication, deepen their understanding, and practice respectful listening.
Fourth Grade
Fourth graders started the year with exciting opportunities to think critically and work together! They practiced inferring using different types of resources, helping them dig deeper into information. In math, they launched into multiplication practice, building fluency and confidence with numbers. They also had fun with a teamwork challenge called “Save Fred,” where they had to work together to rescue a gummy worm—an engaging way to build problem-solving and collaboration.
Fifth Grade
Fifth graders are off to a strong start as they dive into both literacy and math! They began practicing close reading and exploring story structure, helping them analyze texts more deeply and strengthen comprehension. In math, they focused on place value, laying the foundation for problem-solving with larger numbers. Beyond academics, they also worked on building their classroom community, setting the stage for collaboration, respect, and shared success throughout the year.
Sixth Grade
A huge THANK YOU to our 6th grade students who painted the squares at the Car Rider line—you did such a fantastic job! The colors make our pickup area look great!
🚗 Parents: When you arrive to pick up your child, please be sure to pull all the way up to the painted square before stopping. This helps keep our line moving smoothly and safely.
Thank you for helping make dismissal efficient and colorful! 💛
